Dodge Viper RT/10

Nr. Year Brand Model Engine
K559 1992 Dodge Viper 8.0L

1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 – One of only 285

First production-year Dodge Viper in excellent cosmetic and mechanical conditions and only 24983 miles on the odometer. An original car that retains its original 8-liter V10 engine making 400 horsepower, 6-speed manual transmission, and factory Viper Red paint. 1992 was the first production year of the Dodge Viper, with only 285 made, all in Viper Red and with gray leather interior. The only option offered was a 6-disc CD changer in the truck, which this car has. The original manufacturer's window sticker is included and confirms the original equipment. The car has a well-documented history: White Bear Dodge, a Dodge dealer in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, ordered the car from Dodge and did a New Vehicle Preparation Inspection and Road Test on October 7, 1992, with 22 miles on the odometer after taking delivery. The original order from the dealer to Dodge, the car's original manufacturer window sticker, and the New Vehicle Inspection report are included in the sale. The car stayed in the White Bear Lake area, and a service contract between the original dealer and owner, Mr. Weaver dating to October 1999, is included in the sale, as is a copy of the Minnesota title. The car was sold and imported into Denmark in 2008 and has had one Danish owner.

Included in the sale: Side windows, back window, Tonneau cover, and roof (vinyl and unique to the early models), all original and in excellent condition. Also included are a folder with service invoices, a copy of the US title, the history and ownership of the car as described above, and the original owner’s manual and literature.

The car has a Danish title and registration. The car passed Danish Technical Inspection (Syn/MOT/TUV) in June 2022. A complete inspection and service confirm the car is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition and can be enjoyed for many years.

The 1992 model year is the most desirable and collectible model year of the Viper due to its low production number, lack of ABS, air conditioning, and other equipment that takes away from the driving experience. The Viper's 8.0-liter V-10 engine was initially designed for Dodge Truck duty. Still, Chrysler looked to Lamborghini for help designing a new aluminum block and heads, with some of its parts (including the two-valve-per-cylinder pushrod design) carried over. In these first Vipers, the engine was rated at 400 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque, with an impressive redline of 6,000 rpm. The dash to 60 mph came in less than five seconds, and the top speed was originally 164 mph.
