History of the  BMW 2000CS:

The BMW 2000CS was a luxury coupé produced by the German automaker BMW from 1965 to 1969. The car was a part of the BMW "New Class" line of vehicles, which also included the 1500, 1800, and 2000 models.

The 2000CS was first introduced in 1965 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It was designed to be a more stylish and upscale version of the popular 2000 sedans. The car featured a sleek, aerodynamic body with a long hood and a short rear deck. It also had a unique "shark nose" grille that would become a trademark of BMW's design language.

Under the hood, the 2000CS was powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine that produced around 100 horsepower. This was paired with a four-speed manual transmission or an optional three-speed automatic. The car had a top speed of around 110 mph, making it one of the faster vehicles in its class at the time.

The 2000CS was well-received by critics and buyers alike. It was praised for its excellent handling and comfortable ride, as well as its stylish design.

However, it was also criticized for its high price tag, which made it less accessible to the average consumer.

Despite this, the 2000CS was a commercial success for BMW. It was produced for four years, and around 4,500 units were sold. The car's success laid the foundation for the development of the more successful BMW 6-Series, which was introduced in the 1970s.

Overall, the 1967 BMW 2000CS was an important vehicle in the history of the German automaker. It helped to establish BMW as a producer of luxury and high-performance vehicles, and its design elements continue to influence the company's cars to this day.
